It must be December. The Packers playing in a snow game, it’s just this one, for once, happened to be away from the hallowed halls of Lambeau Field.
The Packers went on the road to MetLife Stadium to defeat the New York Giants 31-13.
The win not only moved the Pack to 9-3 on the season, but kept them atop the NFC North standings, as well as staying in contention for a top seed in the NFC playoffs.
After putting together one of the worst games of his career last week against the San Francisco 49ers, Aaron Rodgers returned to form Sunday, despite a constant bombardment of snow.
Rodgers finished the game 21-33 for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was Rodgers’ 23rd game of 4 or more touchdown passes which is the fifth most in NFL history since 1950.
But despite Rodgers’ big afternoon, the star of the game was his receiver Allen Lazard who hauled in three receptions for 103 yards which included a 37 yard touchdown reception.
Lazard’s score came late in the first quarter and was the second of Rodgers’ TD tosses. The first was to Davante Adams earlier in the quarter, from 8 yards out.
The defense was also huge Sunday coming up with three interceptions. One by each Darnell Savage, Kevin King and Tramon Williams.
The Packers will now return home to face the Washington Redskins next Sunday.
