Love is in the air … and so is some seriously great style! But it’s not all about Valentine’s Day; February offers an abundance of exciting Nashville events. This month, we’re indulging our artistic side at 21c Museum Hotel’s Love: An Evening of Spoken Word, tasting the best beverages at Triple Sip, and making sure Valentine’s Day (or Galentine’s if that’s your preference) is shaping up to be a stylish affair.
With its original trusses and yellow beams left over from its days as a church fellowship hall, Hathorne provided the perfect backdrop for the beautiful ensembles pulled by stylist Cynthia Kelley and modeled by Amy Marsalis and Lauren McCarthy. With looks from Duet, E. Allen and Hemline, you’re sure to be inspired. Not to mention, many of the items we’re featuring this month can be found on sale. Take a look!
The Event: Valentine’s Day
- February 14, 2020
- As fancy as you feel!
Though predictable, it seems only natural to gravitate toward red and pink this month, and there’s no better day to don those vibrant reds and perfect pinks than on Valentine’s Day — or Galentine’s if you celebrate the love of friendship — on February 14.
What to wear: If you’re headed out with your beau, we suggest a fun yet fancy ensemble with a pop of rouge. We’re going with a classic black and white blouse with fitted faux leather pants, accented by a hat that shows you’re both on-trend and ready to have a good time! If you’re hanging with the girls for Galentine’s Day, try going the casual route with jeans, a celebratory pink top and some comfy shoes that are ready to take you wherever the night leads.

The Event: 21c Museum Hotel’s Love: An Evening of Spoken Word
- February 16, 2020
- “Artsy” casual
- 21c Museum Hotel Nashville
- 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- This event is free.
Art, live jazz, writing workshops and spoken word poetry come together for an evening devoted to love. 21c Museum Hotel’s Love: An Evening of Spoken Word invites you to grab a glass of complimentary wine and sit down to listen to the rhythm of words. You’ll even leave with a free book of poetry from the Free Nashville Poetry Library. Stick around afterward for free interactive writing workshops with the evening’s poets.
What to wear: Whether you attend solo or with a date, indulge your romantic side and dress to impress. This event really sets the stage for you to wear anything from comfy casual to date-night sleek, and we opted for the latter. Textured, glamorous fabrics lead the way, putting a little artistic spin on the festive attire. Throw on some heels and perhaps a soft leather jacket to complete the look, and you’re off to an evening of cocktails and creativity!

The Event: Triple Sip
- February 28, 2020
- Upscale casual
- Nashville Farmers’ Market
- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Tickets are $60 in advance and $70 at the door.
The Triple Sip tasting event is a chance for you to mingle with your fellow Nashvillians and partake in the beverage trifecta: wine, craft beer and spirits. Enjoy a fun evening sipping your way around the Nashville Farmers’ Market as you help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, a nonprofit organization that provides families with sick children a home environment, support and access to medical care. The event also features small bites — both sweet and savory — from sponsors such as Saint Stephen, Chago’s Cantina, Farm Burger, O-Ku, Pastaria and many more.
What to wear: The Triple Sip event combines the casual atmosphere of the downtown Farmers’ Market with the upscale feel of a tasting room. You can dress up a pair of nice jeans with a great blouse and cozy jacket, or create a more elevated look with a trendy animal print skirt and classic top. Whichever direction you choose, you’re sure to fit in as you whet your palate with some of the most delicious libations in Nashville!
