Midterm elections map: Is Democrat and Republican red or blue in ...

The Midterm Elections are taking place tomorrow, November 6 and will determine who takes control in the House of Representatives and Senate.

Throughout these elections there have been two subjects at the forefront of voters' minds.

President Trump's Republican party have been pushing for votes in the promise of tighter immigration laws.

Whilst opposing party the Democrats have been focusing on healthcare.

Is Democrat and Republican red or blue on map?

The two parties are also known by their logo colours, the Republicans red and Democrats blue.

Currently, as the votes take place tomorrow there have been no results posted.

However, prediction polls show that in the House of Representatives, the Democrats (blue) have a strong lead.

Whilst the Republicans (red) have a key lead in the race for Senate majority.

Maps also show the trends in searches for the parties, with the red Republicans dominating across the US according to Google.

The Democrats have a 87 percent chance of seizing control of the House according to independent polling site FiveThirtyEight.

The polling specialists predict that for the Senate, Republicans have a 84.2 percent chance of maintaining control.

In order for either party to take control in the House of Representatives they need to win 218 or more seats.

Should the Democrats prove the polls right and win a majority in the House, it would place a stranglehold on President Trump's power.

For the President, passing bills through congress would become more difficult as his opposing party would have the majority vote.

Former Vice President Joe Biden told a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday this election is the most critical of voters lifetimes.

Biden was appearing in support of Governor Tom Wolf and congressional candidate George Scott when he said: “This is so important for our kids.

"This is the most important election you’ve ever been part of, no matter how old or how young you are.

"The very character of our nation is on the ballot Tuesday.”

Meanwhile President Trump stoked fears on Sunday claiming that Georgia Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams would ban all guns from the people of the state.

Trump said of the Second Amendment: “Stacey and her friends will get rid of it,”

Abrams has not said she would abolish the Second Amendment.

She has said, however, that she supports an assault weapons ban in Georgia.
