FRISCO -- Dak Prescott wore gloves for part of Monday’s practice to determine if he’ll wear them when the Cowboys face Chicago later this week.
The verdict: only if it rains.
“If it’s wet, it’s amazing to be honest,’’ Prescott said. “But if it’s not wet, I don’t need it.
“It doesn’t serve any purpose.’’
Prescott chose not to wear gloves to start the game against New England, which was played in a driving rain storm. He struggled early and his accuracy improved once he put them on in the second quarter.
Without gloves: the Cowboys quarterback was 7-of-11 for 56 yards with an interception.
With gloves: he completed 12-of-22 passes for 156 yards with no interceptions.
It should be in the 30s with winds out of the north at 10 to 20 miles per hour for kickoff at Soldier Field on Thursday evening. There’s currently no precipitation in the forecast.
“It’s not something I’ll do just with it being cold,’’ Prescott emphasized. “My hands are fine. I’ll keep my hands warm, keep the blood in them, got the hand warmers and all that.
“If it’s cold, the glove is actually leather, I think it makes my hand colder. But when it’s wet, it does exactly its job.’’
