Several Syracuse players wear Kobe Bryant sneakers vs. Clemson to honor late NBA star - syracuse.com

Clemson, S.C. ― Several Syracuse players will wear Kobe Bryant sneakers in the Orange’s game vs. Clemson on Tuesday to honor the late Los Angeles Lakers star.

Bryant, 41, died on Sunday in a tragic helicopter crash in Southern California. The crash also took the lives of Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others.

Syracuse’s game at Clemson on Tuesday is the Orange’s first since Sunday’s tragedy.

All five of Syracuse’s starters are wearing variations of Nike’s Kobe Bryant model sneakers in Tuesday’s game.

Buddy Boeheim and Elijah Hughes are regular wearers of Kobe’s brand sneakers. Joe Girard is wearing a pair that he rarely uses. Marek Dolezaj and Bourama Sidibe are also in Kobe’s.

Along with the five starters, Syracuse reserves Howard Washington and Shaun Belbey had on Kobe shoes as they took the court at Littlejohn Coliseum for warmups.
