英国の株式市場参加者の大半は、世界最長の取引時間の短縮を望んでいる。ロンドン証券取引所（ＬＳＥ）の調査で分かった。
ＬＳＥが発表した意見聴取の結果によると、「過半数を十分に上回る回答者が取引時間短縮が業界の多様性と福利の改善に役立ちうるとの議論に賛同した」という。賛否の比率は明らかにしなかった。
ＬＳＥによれば、140人余りの回答者の大半は、いかなる変更にも欧州全体の取引所や取引プラットフォームでの一体的なアプローチが必要だとの考えを示した。このため、ＬＳＥは欧州の他の取引所の調査結果を待って判断するとしている。欧州の取引時間は８時間半と、米国に比べ２時間長い。
欧州金融市場協会（ＡＦＭＥ）と英国投資協会（ＩＡ）は昨年11月、取引時間の短縮を提案している。
ＬＳＥは2019年12月〜20年１月に、個人投資家から世界的投資銀行などを対象に調査した。
